Power, Profit, Project: Postmodernism and Capitalism

The project “Power, Profit, Project: Postmodernism and Capitalism” is an interdisciplinary lecture series organized by the Stirner Club Zurich in collaboration with Students for Liberty Switzerland. The aim of the project is to examine the complex relationships between postmodern thinking and capitalism. Each semester, the work of a key postmodern thinker is studied in depth and analyzed with regard to its critical or productive engagement with capitalist structures. In the current semester, the series begins with the egoistic philosophy of Max Stirner and a joint reading of his magnum opus, The Ego and Its Own. Stirner’s radical individualism is understood as a starting point for a reflection on property, self-determination, and social power relations in the context of modern and postmodern capitalism.
